Between the lines in the forest of meaning,

A phrase can appear too good – fair seeming.

“Just fine, all’s well.”, “I feel just great!”

Can hide the pain in a trusted mate.

Discussions pass as if they were buses.

Repetition constricts like corsets & trusses.

Endless groans…a cough or two.

Listen well! They’re meant for you.

Signposts on the winding way,

Point to things you must do or say…

Clearly visible, if you know where to look…

Under the lies and the truth, you mistook.

Here are the secrets of listening well:

No charm required, no sweetened spell.

Say nothing at all to open your mind.

You are now listening… I hope you’ll find.
